Prefessional Blogging…How You Want It…How Dont You Want It!!

The task of marketing a website can sometimes be a very boring task. Yes, marketing is important and vital to the success of a business but it cannot be denied that the tedium could get to the most persistent internet marketer or business owner.

The way to combat the boredom is to use many different internet marketing tools as a way of diversifying the marketing choices that will be used for the website. But there is one new internet marketing tool that is not only very effective in promoting your website, it is also quite fun to do. This is making and posting blogs.

Blogs are like online diaries where people can post their thoughts about a variety of subjects and issues or even report news in various points of interest. The readers of the blog are also encouraged to post their replies to the blog posts, thus forming an informal community that sends messages to each other. One of the most popular blogging services right now is Blogger - now owned by Goggle. Blogger’s easy to use blogging interface has proven to be a hit among bloggers of different persuasions. Google has even established a dedicated Blog Search in its search engine as a way of addressing the fast growing popularity of blogs. Blogging has been a popular internet pastime for quite some time now. Blogging has actually taken a life of its own and has transcended its initial life as an online diary. Corporations are now using blogs as a means to post corporate news and events that can be read by its workforce.

Recently, internet marketers saw the potential of blogs as a powerful internet marketing tactic. They realize that one of the biggest advantage of blogs is that it gets good search engine positioning because of its interlinking aspect as well as the regular fresh content. Search engines know that most blogs are updated regularly and this results in more favorable page rankings for the topic that it deals with. Blogging has also given media relations a new effective tool because bloggers are often recognized as the opinion leaders in the field in which they blog. There are also topic-specific blogs that can be setup as a form of soapbox for the internet where people can freely voice their opinions regarding important issues of the day. Still another idea is to set up a blog that can be the source of news for topics that are not covered by the media in general.

When it comes to more in-depth marketing efforts, blogs can be used to promote a website directly or use the generated traffic to bring attention to an affiliate program like Google adwords to set up another income stream. Blogs can also be used for various promotions strategies. You can either launch your own blog to promote a service or, as previously mentioned, a website, or participate in ongoing blog discussions within relevant subjects or topics and then promote the service or website there by participating in the discussions.

If you want to get started making money blogging, but have no idea whatsoever on HOW, then you want the Atomic Blogging . Atomic Blogging really does go into detail there and it is so easy that any newbie can comprehend the steps.

EBay Ebook Success: 7 Ideas For Blog Content

This article outlines seven possible sources of content for your blog.

By Tom Parker

In my previous articles I discussed things you need to consider before you begin blogging. Once you have considered these factors you should be ready to start your blog. However, there is one more critical factor - content. Where are you going to get your blog content from? What type of content are you going to provide? In this article I try to answer these questions by discussing seven sources of content for your blog.

1) SELF WRITTEN CONTENT:- When starting your blog you should definitely be consider writing your own content. Why? Because it is free and it also provides your blog with a dose of your own personality. You do not have to write every single post yourself because this can take a lot of time. However, there is no reason you cannot write an occasional article or product review for your blog.

2) EBAY LISTINGS:- Since your blog is a supplement for your eBay business it makes sense to highlight eBay listings on your blog. Do not fill it with all your eBay listings or your readers will quickly start to see your blog as one big advert. However, the occasional post about one of your eBay listings that you feel requires additional attention is fine. For example, maybe you have a new ebook out? Perhaps you have just listed an ebook in your eBay store which contains some really insightful information? Your readers are interested in ebooks too (that is why they are reading an eBay ebook blog), so they will want to read about some of your eBay ebooks. If done correctly, blogging about your eBay listings can improve the appearance of your blog and generate interest from your readers. Just make sure you do not overdo it.

3) ARTICLES FROM THE DIRECTORIES:- I have discussed in my previous articles how article directories can be a great sources of traffic. Well they can be a great source of free content too. Have a search through the article directories for articles on the topics you are looking to publish and then republish them. The only thing you have to make sure of is that you include the author’s resource box so that they receive the credit for writing the article.

4) PRIVATE LABEL RIGHTS (PLR) ARTICLES:- PLR articles are sold to a limited group of customers (let’s say 50). These 50 customers then have exclusive rights to use these articles for web content, email content, part of an ebook or whatever else they wish. PLR articles can be a great way to get content for your blog quickly. Although they usually cost a little money, they have an advantage over articles from the directories because of their limited distribution. Instead of publishing a directory article that has potentially been used by thousands of people, you can publish a relatively unique PLR article. Plus, you can make changes to the PLR article, giving it a unique spin for your blog.

5) OUTSOURCED ARTICLES:- If you are not happy with other people having the same PLR articles as you and you do not have the time to write your own unique articles, outsourced articles are an option. Simply, find a good writer (ask for a sample of their work before agreeing to purchase any articles) and then agree a fee per article. They will then write unique, relevant articles which you can post on your blog. The disadvantage with outsourced articles is that they will cost more than PLR articles.

6) EBOOKS:- As an eBay ebook seller you should have access to lots of ebooks with resell rights and giveaway rights. Why not give some away on your blog? Your readers will really appreciate getting free ebooks that they can then go on to resell in their eBay stores.

7) YOUTUBE VIDEOS:- Interactive websites are becoming increasingly popular and YouTube is no exception. On YouTube you can find videos on almost every topic including selling ebooks on eBay. All the videos on YouTube contain code to embed the video, so all you have to do is copy and paste this code into a blog post and voila - you have video on your blog.

I hope these seven content sources are beneficial to you and your blog. Even if your blog is not related to eBay and ebooks, you can use many of the sources quoted above. Now that you have the sources you just need to take action. Start posting today and watch your blog grow.

11 ways to get free pr5+ backlinks for your site.

Many webmasters believe that it is extremely hard to get pagerank 5+ backlinks. There are whole theory that only buying links site can get pr5 and higher. I would like to show different non spammy ways to get pr5-pr7 backlinks for your website without spamming and buying them.

1) Submit your site in DMOZ. It might take a while, but pr5-6 backlink benefit guarantee in 70% categories.

2) Write articles in powerful article directories. If you write 1 article, it will give you only low pagerank link because story will disappear later in archive… but here is a trick. If you create profile on powerful article directory with pr7+ homepage and write 10-15 articles it will give at least 10-15 backlinks to your profile from different articles you wrote. This links will make Google believe that your profile page is an important part of website and Google give pr5 or even 6 to your profile page with your link. Good article directories you can find here.

3) Use high pagerank niche forums to write posts. Check old posts and see if old pages got pr5+. Join this forum and post adding link in signature and profile. Attention: don’t cheat replying to old posts… forum owners know this trick and your ip will be banned. New post will get deserved pagerank with next update. To find forums use http://www.big-boards.com/.

4) Google it! If your site about cars; type on Google “Cars exchange link with us” or “cars link exchange page” etc… Most likely old well promoted pages will appear on top with offers to exchange link with related sites directly from this site. Most this pages already have pr5 or pr6.

5) Write testimonial. Try to remember SEO, link exchange, web promotion services you were using. Also think about your partners. Visit these sites and see if they have “testimonials page”. Suggest writing your feedback for them and your picture with link might appear on quality pr5+ page.

6) Check competitors. If someone link your competitor, why they can’t link your site especially if it the same topic. Use backlink checker tools ( Domain-Pop or LinkVendor ) and search engine databases by typing link:www.domain.com on Google or Yahoo.

7) Providing free software, tools, content for another websites. Some of you might think that they are not so geeky to create tools, scripts, stuff to copy and paste on other sites. That’s right, but you can simply offer webmasters free buttons you made, regular pictures, clipart, etc. Point that only webmasters who link back can use design, pictures, tools on their sites. I know some people who got pr8 and pr9 this way.

8) Visit your favorite sites which related to yours to see if there is any way to suggest link. It is smile way which it seems doesn’t work anymore because of spammers… but it is not true. Many webmasters are still happy to link related sites from their established resources and pr6-pr7 pages. Not everything for money!

9) Write some Wikipedia alike pages with all information you know. It can give you good links including .edu and .gov if you are perfect writer. Use stuff like “100 ways to get success…”, “50 tips to get…”. Bloggers love to link pages like this. You also have a good chance to appear on Digg frontpage. Remember that content is the king.

10) Build pr4 links. If you build 20 pr4 links it is a big chance that 1-5 of them will be pr5 with couple updates. Most webmasters are trying to improve their pagerank.

11) For bloggers: visit most popular blogs and check their buttons in sidebar. Many of them keep buttons of free blog directories which simply provide pr5+ links from their categories. There are way more free height pagerank directories for bloggers than for other sites.

The Importance Of PPC (Pay Per Click) For Your Marketing Campaigns

The selection of keywords for bidding is the most important task for any PPC (pay per click) campaign as certain keywords might be costly. Research shows that the top five bidders of almost all the keywords get the maximum traffic and conversions; therefore it is not necessary to make the highest bid for specific keywords.

By Lee Smith

PPC or pay per click is a comparatively new way of paid advertising and you only have to pay when your advert is physically clicked on. When visitors click on your advert they are taken to your website or sales page that is targeted to your advertisements product or service, meaning a higher chance of achieving a sale or enquiry.

Pay per click (PPC) services are offered by many search engines and portals and you are asked to bid for keywords that relate to your product, service or industry. There is tough competition for certain keywords and you might spend hundreds of pounds for a few keywords, however there are also certain keywords available for a few pence that can be advantageous for your campaign, even if there are only small amounts of people actually searching for these keywords per month.

Thus pay per click or PPC advertising is good for delivering targeted customers to your websites; however this type of advertising is not suitable for non-profit making businesses, as it can become costly.

The most popular pay per click channels are Google’s AdWords, AdBrite, BidVertiser and Overture as these search engines have large networks and traffic volumes. You might also be interested in showing your advert in a particular geographical region and now that technology has evolved, most channels offer geographical advertising, which further enhances the targeted advertising benefit of pay per click.

The selection of keywords for bidding is the most important task for any PPC (pay per click) campaign as certain keywords might be costly. Research shows that the top five bidders of almost all the keywords get the maximum traffic and conversions; therefore it is not necessary to make the highest bid for specific keywords.

Once you register with the PPC (pay per click) search engines and deposit money in your account, you should start from the lowest possible amount and increase your budget in a phased manner.

In order to get more traffic, conversions and sales, your advert plays a key role. Your advert should therefore be eye-catching, so that the maximum amounts of people click on your adverts and are then diverted to the website to make the desired call-to-action, as the conversions or sales depend on the first impression of the landing page and its contents.

A beautifully designed landing page having informative and impressive contents will generate more sales. The next and most important thing is to monitor your adverts and if they are not generating sufficient sales, change them so that more and more people are being diverted to your landing page.

So, keep watching the earnings from your PPC campaigns and monitor your ads regularly.

Do You Know How To Improve Your Web Browser’s Internet Security?

By Paul Wilcox

Browsers are one of the keys to internet security. Actually, I suppose they’re really more like the car than the key. After all, they’re the vehicle we use to travel around the web. Occasionally an unwanted passenger jumps on board though, and could even carjack your browser - taking you somewhere you don’t want to be.

So, what can you do to stop them?

There are a number of options, the first of which is the browser software you choose to use. Microsoft’s Internet Explorer still has the lion’s share of the market, but it’s losing ground to other, more secure browsers such as Firefox.

And this isn’t necessarily just because they’re more secure (although they usually are). Because fewer people use them, they’re just not as big a target for the people who create these security issues. Using a less widely used browser can help keep you under the radar.

Another key to improving your browser security is learning more about it.

There are a lot of options and setting in Internet Explorer (and most other browsers) that allow you to have more control over what is allowed and what isn’t. The trouble is, most people have little to no idea how to set them properly.

For instance, should you disable ActiveX controls or should you allow them to run but prompt you first? This is an example of something that will ultimately be up to you to decide. Disabling them is certainly more secure, but some websites may not work properly. And prompting you every time can get annoying fast if you regularly visit sites that use them.

This is the sort of trade-off that is a pain in the neck and hopefully won’t be necessary one day. For now, however, you should do some reading to learn more about these settings and how they affect you. If your computer ever crashes because of some internet security attack, you’ll wish you’d spent the time to learn it.

Proper use is the final leg of browser security. Do you practice ‘safe browsing’? Some sites prompt to download ActiveX controls (little programs), dialers, adware and other dynamic content. Do you really know what’s likely to happen when you say yes, or are you trusting the source? Trust is necessary, but as the old saying goes ‘Trust, but keep your eyes open’.

Most internet users don’t have any idea just how much information about them is shared when they visit a website. There are many things, such as your location, the browser you use and what operating system your computer is running that are sent to a website when you visit. This is just how the internet works, and it means you need to be careful that you’re well protected.

Back to education for a moment. Spend some time learning how to lock down your system, outside the browser settings, to make it more difficult for these errant programs to gain Administrator level privileges. Your time will be well re-paid.

IE vs. Firefox(Get a Load o’ this!)

Tired of errors showing up while using Internet Explorer? You can start using Firefox, The web browser created by the Mozilla Foundation, and start forgetting about security issues and pages not displaying properly because of his superior design.

Also, the security of Firefox is much better than other browsers because it was designed to be secure since its inception. Instead to creating a “bloated” product with a lot of features, they thought it was better that features could be added by users and created a mechanism called “plugins”, which are created by third parties and add the functionality that users demand.

Here are the top 5 reasons why you should be using Firefox:

1. Internet Explorer was built to avoid standards whenever possible. If all browsers have the same functionality, it would be very easy for users to switch to another program, something Microsoft may dislike. This is changing now that Firefox is growing fast, but it seems that Microsoft intent is to lock you in the use of Internet Explorer as much as they can. Fight back and use Firefox instead.

2. Improvement and continuous development. Internet Explorer developed many versions of his browser through 1,995 till 2,001 and then, when Internet Explorer got more than 90% market share, developments stopped until recently, when they started to lose market share. Also, Microsoft wasn’t fair in the war because they included Explorer in every product they could, while Netscape (the competing browser at the time) couldn’t do anything similar.

3. Proven Security. When the US Computer Emergency and Response Team (CERT) recommends that you should be using any browser other than Internet Explorer, certainly you should listen. In this article: http://www.securityfocus.com/news/8998 they warn people about the security problems of Internet Explorer. Firefox was developed with security in mind, so it is much less vulnerable.

4. Mozilla develops more solutions. The Mozilla Foundation is not worried about market share and develops useful programs as free Open Source, meaning that everybody could look at the source could if they wish. Not only they developed Firefox, but also, Thunderbird (to read email) NVU (a program to edit Web Pages) and many other excellent and useful software.

5. Totally Free. The Mozilla Foundation develops all their software in the open source model, meaning that anybody can see the source and change it to their own needs. This helps in the creation of a much secure product because more eyes are looking into the possible problems.

But the most important reason of all is security. When a program is built without logical structure, it is very difficult to fix any problems that arise and the only thing you can do is apply patches, exactly what Microsoft have been doing for years. You can wait till Microsoft develops a secure browser from the ground up, but you have the option to start using Firefox now and feel secure on the Internet.
